‘You better worry about him’… Dana White warns the UFC lightweight division that Paddy Pimblett is a serious threat

After watching Paddy Pimblett choke Bobby Green unconscious, Dana White made every lightweight aware that ‘The Baddy’ is the real deal.

On July 27, at UFC 304 inside the 23,500-seater Co-op Live in Manchester, UK, the Liverpudlian produced the greatest performance of his career, submitting his toughest opponent to date via triangle choke to send the crowd into raptures.

Dana White believes Paddy Pimblett can cause some serious problems in the lightweight division

Since exploding into the world of UFC following a successful stint in Cage Warriors back in 2021, Pimblett has risen to meteoric levels of fame. However, while a large portion of the MMA community has resonated with his personality, the Scouser has had his fair share of detractors, with many claiming he’d never reach the top 15 of the division.

Thus, his victory last Saturday proved the doubters wrong, with the 29-year-old earning a ranking and cementing his place as a genuine contender in the weight class.

At the post-fight press conference, the UFC President told Sporf that he can’t get his head around why Pimblett’s potential future opponents aren’t taking him seriously, but insisted that they better start taking note, as the talented grappler has his eyes firmly set on the big time.

White explained: “I don’t know. He’s just one of those guys, his personality or whatever it is, people aren’t afraid of him. I don’t know, I can’t explain it. He showed tonight, you don’t have to be afraid of him, but you definitely better worry about him.

“And now, he’s in the top 15. He’s never lost in the UFC. I can tell you, he probably f**ked a lot of parlays up tonight.”
