Renan Ferreria has many a tale from his days working in security

Standing at 6ft8 and weighing in at 264 lbs, Renan Ferreira would be an intimidating man even if he wasn’t one of the best mixed martial artists on planet Earth.

Thus, with those skills in mind, prior to his days in the PFL, the Brazilian monster made for the perfect man to stop mischievous individuals from causing trouble in the bars in which he worked.

As it turns out, Ferreira has many a memory of dealing with those who’d gone a little bit too wild.

He told Sporf: “There are ten years of stories working as a bodyguard and security guard. One of the constants for me was that people would come into the clubs smiling, and by the time they left, they thought they were God-almighty. They wanted to face off. They wanted to test their skills. It was just my job to hold them and prevent them from messing around too much.”

Renan Ferreira loved working with the Nogueira brothers

Upon realising he wanted to pursue a career in mixed martial arts, Ferreira moved from rural Porangatu, Goiás, to Rio, and began learning the ropes from the Nogueira brothers.

Under the watchful eye of the legends, the gifted athlete honed the skills that would eventually lead to him winning the PFL heavyweight title.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that the warrior’s time with the icons remains at the forefront of his mind.

He explained: “I have a memory of moving to Rio and meeting them and understanding how they can be that big, that legendary, but still so humble. That’s something that’s always stuck with me, and I hold very close.”

Renan Ferreira believes he has the power to KO Francis Ngannou

In his remarkable career, Ngannou has cemented his place as one of the most powerful punchers to have ever set foot in the cage.

With an innate ability to land the perfect shot, exhibited through thunderous finishes over Stipe Miocic and Alistair Overeem, ‘The Predator’ is capable of switching the lights off at any moment.

Therefore, Ferreira will have to maintain concentration for every single second of their contest. However, Ngannou will have to do the same.

At PFL vs Bellator, the Brazilian rendered Ryan Bader unconscious with a thunderous right hand to solidify his status as a massive player in the division.

Thus, the sportsman is confident he has the dynamite in his hands to leave ‘The Predator’ flat on the canvas.

The 34-year-old asserted: “He’s going to have to fear my hand. I’ve shown time and time again with my movement and my style—you position yourself in a position to throw something at me, and it’s two forces connecting. That makes me even more dangerous.”
