From growing up in a wooden house as the breadwinner for a family of ten, to becoming a millionaire, the reigning PFL featherweight champion has gone on an incredible run that’s lead her to a clash with one of the most vicious competitors to ever grace the sport.

Larissa Pacheco thinks a victory over Cris Cyborg will define her legacy

On October 19, Larissa Pacheco will square off with Cris Cyborg on the epic Battle of the Giants card, headlined by the monster heavyweight fight between Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira.

With the eyes of the world watching, the defending PFL Queen will take to the cage and look to unleash her fury on a woman who’s built a reputation on dismantling her foes in brutal fashion.

And while Pacheco has already achieved so much, she believes this fight is far more integral for solidifying her legacy, especially in her homeland of Brazil.

The brawler told Sporf: “I feel like the public sees this as a more important fight for me because some people might not think I’ve done enough or as much as Cyborg. She has done it all. She has fought near enough everyone.

“I feel like the home crowd is more towards her. I feel like Cyborg was around when MMA started booming in Brazil, so she really rode that wave. She’s carrying that, which is fine, but we can always turn the tables.”

In her incredible career, Pacheco has achieved so much, winning two PFL championships. But despite her remarkable success, claiming a victory over Cyborg would mean more to her than anything she’s ever done before and would also land her in the conversation of being the best female fighter to ever wear the small gloves.

The sublimely gifted athlete beamed: “This is the cherry on top of the cake. This is the fight that can launch me into the stratosphere and can put me into a position of being the greatest.”
