EXCLUSIVE: Having proven himself inside the ring, Jake Paul is excited to mix things up and test his skills in PFL MMA. And he has the perfect opponent in mind.
Blessed with formidable punching power and a high school wrestling background, ‘The Problem Child’ is convinced he has what it takes to compete in the cage.
Jake Paul wants to fight Tommy Fury in PFL MMA
Last Thursday, Jake Paul arrived in Washington DC, USA, to host the press conference between Francis Ngannou and Renan Ferreira.
The major event, aptly named ‘Battle of the Giants’, will take place on October 19 at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Soaking in the atmosphere, the YouTuber joined the two monsters on stage, standing in the middle of them as they faced off.
Ultimately, he concedes that had tensions erupted between the pair of sporting titans, there was very little he could’ve done.
Paul told Sporf: “I would’ve run away. I swear I would’ve dipped out.”
But while he doesn’t fancy taking a punch off either of the heavyweight icons, the experience of being up on stage whetted his appetite to fight in PFL himself.
Therefore, it comes as no major surprise that he’d love to drag his old nemesis into the cage with the intent of claiming redemption.
The 27-year-old explained: “There were discussions of me vs Tommy Fury, one boxing and one MMA. I think that’s actually still a discussion, so that could be interesting for sure.”
Paul also gave his stance on who would emerge victorious in a hypothetical PFL encounter between Fury and KSI.
The social media star exclaimed: “That’s a good question. Their whole boxing match was basically an MMA fight, they were hugging and elbowing each other and Tommy won. So, I’d probably say Tommy.”
Regardless of whom Paul ultimately ends up fighting in the PFL, it’s likely to make enormous waves as the world tunes in to see if the American can back up his boasts.
