EXCLUSIVE: Having dominated her first 13 fights, Dakota Ditcheva is making massive waves in MMA, with Jake Paul putting her in the same class as Ronda Rousey.
The Brit is scheduled to go head-to-head with Taila Santos in the final of the 2024 PFL flyweight tournament.
Jake Paul believes Dakota Ditcheva has a massive future in the PFL
Last season, Dakota Ditcheva ran riot, destroying every woman in her path en route to winning the 2023 PFL Europe Women’s Flyweight Tournament.
And this year, she’s excelled even further, showcasing remarkable striking skills, ripping apart every opponent who has dared set foot in the cage with her.
Now, she’s just one win away from claiming $1 million and cementing her place as one of the greatest female fighters on the planet.
With lightning hands, ferocious kicks and a personality that’s resonated with the public, Ditcheva has emerged as one of the PFL’s biggest stars, with Jake Paul going as far as to compare her to the legendary Ronda Rousey.
Of course, being put in the same light as such an icon meant the world to the 26-year-old.
She told Sporf: “When I first started my career in MMA, when I first fought even as an amateur, I had an article go viral where someone compared me to Ronda Rousey. So, it’s not the first time someone has said it.
“She was someone I looked up to at the very beginning, so it’s nice to have my name mentioned alongside hers.”
Dakota Ditcheva predicts explosive knockout against Taila Santos
While on paper, Santos presents the toughest challenge of Ditcheva’s career, the Mancunian is more than confident that she can step up to the plate and make it look as easy as ever.
She beamed: “Another quick finish, that’s what I’m going for. I treat every fight the same. I’ve taken everyone seriously in this tournament. It doesn’t matter who they are. It’s going to be a tough fight, but as I said last time, ‘I’m ready for it’. It could go anywhere. I’m an MMA fighter, not just a striker.”
And as soon as she bags the biggest scalp of her career, she’ll no doubt perform a Manchester City-inspired celebration. The gifted striker is renowned for entertaining post-fight antics and will head down to her beloved side’s stadium this weekend for some inspiration.
She laughed: I’m at the Etihad on Saturday for the first home game of the season, and I’m gonna make sure the City players come up with a new celebration. I’ll be talking with them, don’t worry.”
