Brendan Loughnane sent Kai Kamaka spiralling towards the canvas with a horrifying knee en route to claiming his spot in another PFL final.
On Friday night, the Mancunian and his Hawaiian rival set the Anthem in Washington DC alight with a brutal war of attrition.
Brendan Loughnane is a PFL finalist once again
While Brendan Loughnane already has $1 million in his bank account from winning the PFL featherweight tournament in 2022, his motivation has remained just as fierce.
With a place in another final on the line, the Brit took the cage at the weekend, determined to prove he has what it takes to win the whole thing again.
At the end of the first round, Loughnane landed a stunning right hand, setting the wheels in motion for a brutal combination.
After connecting with a series of powerful shots on Kamaka, the 34-year-old put together four consecutive lethal knees to drop his opponent to the floor.
While the end looked nigh, the American refused to give in, battling back from the brink, showcasing his own skills by nailing Loughnane with several heavy shots.
However, the Brit simply wouldn’t be denied. Biting down on his gumshield, he kept pressing forward, doing enough to earn a split decision.
Now, he’ll fight Timur Khizriev, who triumphed over Gabriel Braga earlier in the night. And with a victory, Loughnane won’t just add another million to his bank balance, but cement his status as one of the greatest fighters to ever come out of the UK.
